The Residence of Hsin Chih-Ping

The Residence of Hsin Chih-Ping Principal Hsin Chih-Ping's former residence was an affiliated dormitory for the principal of the middle school in Hsinchu during the Japanese Occupation. It was established during the Japanese Occupation by Ohki Kinkuro, whom was the first serving principal during that period. From the time that Hsinchu Middle School was established, this structure has served as the dormitory for all successive principals. 
Hsin Chih-Ping was born in Lo-Ting in Guangdong Province, Mainland China. He graduated from National Chung-Shan University in the department of education. During the final phases of World War II, he served a post in military Commander-in-chief Tang En-Bo's headquarters for several years. After the Japanese surrender, Principal Hsin was the first post-war principal of Hsinchu Middle School, and lived in this dormitory between 1945 and 1985, till he passed away. Under the leadership of Principal Hsin, every tree, bush, brick and tile at Hsin Chu Middle School was gradually built up to be the scope of the campus today. 
Principal Hsin's former residence has historical and cultural meaning. It has the style of residence areas during the Japanese colonial period, and the architectural characteristics of the wooden structures have significant meaning.
