Hsinchu Train Station

Hsinchu Train Station Lio Mingchuan started to build railway in Taiwan for the sake of coast defense, city development and transportation need in 1886. At the early stage of Japan colony, Japan government rebuilt the old railway because that the railway was too zigzag and dangeroud, at that time, Hsin Chu train station was only a simple ticket booth. The new railway started to serve in 1908, and new Hsin Chu train station finished in 1913, which was the station in Hsin Chu nowadays. 
 
The designer of ShinChou train station Matuguchi work for the general government's railway department, he combined some features from Baroque style , steep and high roof with tiger window betweens. The architect emphasized the solemn and heavy feelings of the building by ways of putting stone structure among pillars and corners. 
 
The Hsinchu station was no doubt the landmark of Hsin Chu.
