Hsinchu Municipal Government Hall
Janpan troop occupied Hsin Chu in 1895, at that time the infrastructures were mainly left by Ching Dynasty. In 1904 the official Jeng ZooLane requested to build the new government hall. It did not start until 1925, and had finished next year, later, was repaired several times.
The Hsin Chu municipal government hall was a two-floor brick building, a combination of Japanese and the western style. The wooden roof was oriental style, the main gate under was an outward entrance hall. Inside the main hall, western style arch veranda and Rome pillars looked very impressive for the visitors. Generally , the Hsin Chu municipal government hall was a good example official building , with proper dimension and symmetrical balance in structure.
